The earliest Economic Impact Payment (EIP) checks will reportedly have a pay date of January 4, 2021, according to the Treasury. Under the congressional bill, the payments would likely start being sent about a week after it becomes law. Direct-deposit payments will arrive quickest, while checks or pre-loaded debit cards sent by mail could take until late January to start arriving.
