News Release: SBA Extends PPP Deadline, Gives Small Businesses More Time to Apply

March 31, 2021 (Beloit, WI) – The Biden Administration has signed the PPP Extension Act of 2021, which extends the Paycheck Protection Program application deadline two additional months to May 31st, 2021.

The extension to the PPP lending program allows SBA lenders, such as Blackhawk Bank, more opportunities to help local businesses receive critical relief. "The financial impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic has left many businesses struggling to stay afloat, and this extension will give owners extra time to apply for funds and receive the relief that they desperately need,” said Dave Adkins, CEO and President Blackhawk Bank.

“The Blackhawk Bank Commercial team has helped secure over $130 million in PPP loans for local businesses, supporting over 10,000 local jobs, and we are ready to assist eligible owners with their PPP application throughout the extension period,” said Adkins. “As a local bank, we understand that access to PPP funding can have a significant impact on a business and a community as a whole. We are so grateful to play a part in supporting businesses within our communities, especially through these uncertain times.”

Blackhawk Bank is encouraging eligible small business owners to apply as soon as they can, as funds may run out before the May 31st deadline.
