Blackhawk Bank recently dedicated their three new locations within McHenry and Lake Counties with ribbon cutting ceremonies.
Blackhawk Bancorp, Inc. completed the acquisition of First National Bank of McHenry on March 1, 2019. Their branches officially assumed the Blackhawk Bank name, logo and identity on July 20, 2019. The McHenry, Richmond and Island Lake locations continue to offer the same great service, with familiar faces, that customers have come to expect, along with an expanded product line and resources.
McHenry Banking Center
On July 23, 2019, Blackhawk Bank, along with the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of McHenry, dedicated the Blackhawk Bank McHenry Banking Center, located at 3814 West Elm Street, McHenry, IL 60050, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Numerous bank representatives, public officials and chamber members were present to officially welcome the opening of the Banking Center under the Blackhawk Bank name.
The ceremonial cutting of the ribbon kicked off the dedication, with Blackhawk Bank employees, City of McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett, the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce and chamber members looking on.
Dave Adkins, President and CEO of Blackhawk Bank, remarked, “McHenry is a wonderful partner. They have embraced us and welcomed us into their city. We’re ardent in our pledge to carry on what First National Bank of McHenry started and provide the best opportunities for our employees, customers and community.”
“We searched for a partner to lead us into the next chapter of our business,” stated William “Bill” Busse, former President and CEO of First National Bank of McHenry. “We knew when we first met with Blackhawk Bank that we found a bank that shared our same community values.”
City of McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett thanked the Busse and Graves families for their years of service at First National Bank of McHenry and their dedication to the McHenry Area. He is happy to see their legacy continue with Blackhawk Bank.
Kay Rial Bates, President of the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, wrapped up the event by acknowledging Blackhawk Bank’s commitment of giving to the McHenry area. She concluded with, “Welcome home to McHenry, Blackhawk Bank.”
Richmond Banking Center
On July 30, 2019, Blackhawk Bank, along with the Fox Lake Richmond Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Richmond, and the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), dedicated the Blackhawk Bank Richmond Banking Center, located at 9705 Prairie Ridge Road, Richmond, IL 60071, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Numerous bank representatives, public officials and chamber members were present to officially welcome the opening of the Banking Center under the Blackhawk Bank name.
The ceremonial cutting of the ribbon kicked off the dedication, with Blackhawk Bank employees, Village of Richmond President Craig Kunz, MCDEC representatives and the Fox Lake Richmond Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce and chamber members looking on.
Bill Busse, former Chairman for First National Bank of McHenry wrote in a statement, “Since 2005, First National Bank has been solidly invested in Richmond, and together we’ve both grown and thrived.” He continued, “I warmly welcome Blackhawk Bank to Richmond and can’t wait to see how community banking will be taken to the next level of excellence.”
Dave Adkins, President and CEO of Blackhawk Bank, remarked, “First National Bank of McHenry, Bill Busse and his family laid the foundation to which Blackhawk Bank will build upon. We will hold steadfast in our pledge to support our Richmond community, customers and banking team. ”
Kunz welcomed Blackhawk Bank as a partner in the Richmond area, joking that he was willing to look past the fact that there may be Green Bay Packer fans amongst the employees at the Beloit, WI based institution.
Island Lake Banking Center
On August 6, 2019, Blackhawk Bank, along the Village of Island Lake, dedicated the Blackhawk Bank Island Lake Banking Center, located at 660 East State Road, Island Lake, IL 60042, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Numerous bank representatives, Village public officials were present to officially welcome the opening of the Banking Center under the Blackhawk Bank name.
The ceremonial cutting of the ribbon kicked off the dedication, with Blackhawk Bank employees and Village of Island Lake representatives looking on.
Dave Adkins, President and CEO of Blackhawk Bank, remarked, “It is our honor to serve the Village and citizens of Island Lake. Our dedication to the community, our clients and our team will always be our top priority.”
