November 1, 2019 (Beloit, WI) - Seneca Foods in Janesville, Wisconsin has donated over 47,000 non-perishable food items to Blackhawk Bank’s Grateful Giving Thanksgiving food drive campaign. Blackhawk Transport out of Beloit, Wisconsin has donated the transportation of delivering this donation to a central location provided by the Gymnastic Academy of Rockford, for pick-up by local food pantries.
Blackhawk Bank’s Grateful Giving food drive kicked off on October 14th. The goal of this community food drive is to provide Thanksgiving Day meals to families in need through The Salvation Army of Beloit, St. Vincent DePaul, Old Stone Church, Victory Outreach, Rock River Valley Food Pantry, Caritas, Belvidere/Boone County Food Pantry, Janesville’s YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter, FISH of McHenry Food Pantry, Richmond/Spring Grove Food Pantry, Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry, Food for Greater Elgin and Boys & Girls Club of Elgin. Blackhawk Bank employees, customers, and community members are invited to donate.
With this donation, each of the partnered pantries will receive over 4,000 individual food items. This community effort feeds numerous families a warm Thanksgiving dinner and enables them to take part in the fellowship of the holiday. Monetary donations and non-perishable food items are being accepted at all Blackhawk Bank locations until November 8, 2019.
