How to Get the Most Out of a Golf Sponsorship

It’s that time of the year: golf sponsorship season! It’s common for the spring and summer months to be filled with golf outings hosted by local organizations, allowing members of the community to participate in and sponsor the event to raise funds for their cause.

A golf sponsorship is a great way to help local organizations, but did you know that it is also a great way for you to build connections and your brand? To do this, though, you have to know how to maximize your sponsorship and get the most bang for your buck. Here’s how you do that!

Before you commit to a sponsorship level, think about what you hope to accomplish at this event. Are you looking to make new connections? Build brand awareness? Foster existing connections? Determining what your overall goal is will help you narrow down sponsorship level options. 

If your goal is to build new connections and make a big splash, then choosing a higher sponsorship level may be the best option. However, if you’re looking to engage with and foster existing business connections, then it may more make more sense to opt for a lower sponsorship.  

Utilize Every Piece of Your Sponsorship Package

It’s common for golf sponsorship packages to come with multiple opportunities for you to promote your business. This could include ads, eblasts, social posts, logo placement – all of it makes a huge difference when you take advantage of it. This is a great avenue for your audience to be exposed to your brand leading up to the golf outing, so they are primed and ready when the event takes place.

  • Have a set theme – while not necessary, having a theme will help bring cohesiveness to the table. Whether it’s a beach party, summer fun, sports related, or even safari, a fun theme will make your table memorable and stand out.
  • Have a fun activity – An activity or game for golfers to engage in at the table will get people talking (which is what you want!). This could be as simple as bringing in ring toss, or having a nerf gun competition with targets, but it’s all about finding a way to connect with golfers and have fun.
  • Enter to win item - another great way you can engage with golfers is by having a specialty item that golfers can enter to win. Not only will this give you an opportunity to talk to golfers as they pass through, but it will also give you a reason to contact potential prospects once the event concludes.
  • Giveaways – who doesn’t love free stuff? Having branded items at your table to give out to golfers will help keep your business front of mind.
